Knee Replacement Rehabilitation in Amman, Jordan
The operation replaces the joint. Rehabilitation is what gives you back the walking.
Book on WhatsAppAbout the condition
A knee replacement gives you a new joint surface, but it does not automatically give you movement, strength or confidence on stairs. Those come from the rehabilitation that follows — and the first weeks matter more than most patients realise.
Two goals compete early on: regaining full straightening and enough bend, while managing swelling. Fall behind on straightening in particular and it becomes much harder to recover later, which is why we start structured work early and measure it.
How we treat it
- Early work to restore full knee extension and progressively regain bend
- Swelling management, including lymphatic drainage where it helps
- Progressive strengthening of the quadriceps, glutes and calf
- Walking re-education so you stop limping and load the leg evenly
- Stairs, sit-to-stand and balance training for real daily confidence
- A home program between sessions, which is where much of the progress is made
What the sessions look like
We meet you wherever you are — whether that is days after the operation or months later with a knee that has stiffened up.
Progress is measured: degrees of bend and straightening, walking distance, stairs. You see the numbers move.
Most patients make their biggest gains in the first three months, with strength continuing to improve well beyond that.
Common questions
When should rehabilitation start after a knee replacement?
As early as your surgeon allows. Early, guided movement is one of the strongest predictors of a good final range of motion.
My knee replacement was months ago and it is still stiff. Is it too late?
Not necessarily. Late-stage stiffness is harder to change than early stiffness, but many patients still gain useful range and strength with focused work. An assessment will tell you what is realistic in your case.
